Purpose of the Project

  • It is classified into Korean language education services, parental education services, children's life services. Visiting education instructors (Korean language instructor, life instructor) will visit the family and provide customized service to improve the recipients’ Korean proficiency and enhance parenting competence, and self-esteem・emotion・sociality

Project Overview

  • Target of the project: Multi-cultural families who use the family center and want to use visiting education services, such as Korean education services, parental education services, children’s life services.

    • Service of teaching Korean language

      Provides systematic and step-by-step courses for Korean language programs so that married immigrants (less than 5 years after first entry) and children who entered Korea recently can learn Korean language and culture, daily

    • Service of educating parents

      Provides services to the married immigrants who are suffering while nurturing children due to different language and culture situation at each life cycle (infancy (pregnancy/birth/infant), and early childhood)

    • Service on children’s life

      Provides services for children of multicultural families aged 3 to 12 years old (including children who entered Korea recently) who are having difficulty in academic achievement and with the development of self-esteem, emotion and social skills

  • ※ People eligible for the visiting education service need to complete the briefing session of the center’s visiting education service to use it
  • ※ Differential burdens of hourly deductible depending on income (amount imposed to an individual out of the health insurance fee for the household)
  • ※ Exemption of deductible (free of charge) - residents of remote islands, recipients of basic living, and those eligible for the mitigation of the second-highest deductible among multi-cultural families

Project Process

  • Apply for government support to an administrative welfare center of Eup/Myeon/Dong in the jurisdiction according to the residential registration
  • Applications for government support can be made only at the Eup/Myeon/Dong administrative welfare center where the service recipients reside
  • Apply for the service to a local family center after receiving the notice of types of income which the government supports
  • ※Decision on government support will be sent to the family center in a day (except weekends and holidays) after the applicant receives the notice of the decision about government support. Therefore, the government's decision on support may differ, depending on the moment it is checked

  • Application period: Qualification for receiving visiting education service differs by types, so check this before applying.

  • Document to submit
  • (Commonly mandatory) Consent form to collect and use personal information for family center services, consent form to collect and use sensitive information for family center services, consent form to supply personal information to the 3rd party for family center services, application for membership, application to a program, application for the deductible for the visiting education service
  • (Commonly selective) Select either ① or ②, ① resident registration certificate (married immigrant or naturalized person should be included in the certificate), ② Family Relation Certificate and copy of either the certificate of alien registration or passport
  • Recipients of the visiting education service will be selected by City/Gun/Gu according to the criteria for prior selection by considering the result of surveys on those who received visiting education through someone who recommended the center or via public officials specialized in social welfare in Eup/Myeon/Dong.

Principles of Providing Visiting Education Service

  • Providing similar services for the same period is not allowed in general. Therefore, providing similar services (projects for mentoring multi-cultural students, projects for supporting language development, education in Korean language, etc.) to the recipients of the visiting education service is not possible.
  • In the region where there is no center or the visiting education service is not provided, it is possible to receive services by linking with nearby regional center.
