Purpose of the Project

  • Evaluate the language development state for the children of multi-cultural families, performing appropriate language education for children with difficulty in language development so that proper development can be accomplished.
    By providing counseling and education methods for the parents of multi-cultural families as well as language education their children, promoting language development for children even in daily life.

Project Overview

  • Target of the project: Children of multi-cultural families who need language evaluation and language education (12 years old or less*)
  • * A child of more than 12 years old can be included if he/she is an elementary student
  • ※Multi-cultural families will be supported, according to priority. However, foreigners’ families and families of North Korean refugees can be supported depending on local situations
  • Project content
    • Language evaluation for children of multi-cultural families

      Evaluate the children’s language development using appropriate evaluation tools

    • Language education for children of multi-cultural families

      Perform language education to promote development in vocabulary and making sentences, improve the capability in conversation and social communication, develop reading and talking for children who require education as a result of evaluating language development

    • Counseling and educating parents

      Counseling parents to build consensus with them, and educating them to support their children’s language development

      1. Perform an initial interview after receiving applications
      2. Perform evaluation by age and problematic situations
    • Language education
      1. Perform language education as per the evaluation result
    • Counseling
      1. Proceed with counseling for each parent and educating them
    • Linkage to related organizations
      1. Link voucher and specialized institutions which is relevant, etc.
    • Termination of the service
      1. Terminate the services once the goal is accomplished
      2. Perform the survey on satisfaction levels
    • post-management
      1. Perform post-counseling 2 times within 6 months
      2. Perform post-evaluation within 6 months
